The fifth season back with La Soirée — the Olivier Award-winning cabaret spectacular — and the first time overseas, taking the Spiegeltent to the Nordkraft in Aalborg, Denmark, as well as the Aldwych Theatre in London. Two firsts in one year: stepping in as the lighting designer of record, and the first international tour.
La Soirée runs nightly, and the tradition is to busk it — riding the Avolite Tiger Touch in the moment, reading the room and the performers rather than following a rigid cue sheet. It’s one of the most purely enjoyable kinds of lighting work there is: responsive, live, always different.
